A Recent Custom Gold Engagement Ring with an Ethical Ruby Birthstone

I have many excited nervous elated feelings with this next special commission.
I feel so lucky to be involved in such a big part of someone's life, and to be trusted to turn their idea into reality.

My lovely customer Matt came to me with so many wonderful reflections on his partner, and after a lot of thought I pulled together some designs that I felt reflected these special qualities.

Hand-carved from wax and cast in recycled 18 carat yellow gold, I kept the design minimalist and natural in shape. The gold organically flows around the Ruby, the ring proudly showing the wobbles and bumps from the making process. I love how my experimental process is visible, even in the piece's final form.

The journey to this final piece took a lot of thought and trust in the process - it truly was a labour of love. I'm so proud of the finished piece, and over the moon that Matt and his partner love it too.
